What if I can’t make it to the event?
Tickets are not currently refundable but are transferable. Please e-mail info@frillinois.com if you would like to transfer your ticket.
If you would like to transfer your ticket to someone specific, please e-mail info@frillinois.com with the following information:
- Your full name as it appears on your ticket
- Your e-mail
- Order number
- New ticket holder’s full name (as it appears on identification)
- New ticket holder’s e-mail

What kind of event is The Great Lace?
The Great Lace is a two-day J-fashion event with a focus on lolita/EGL fashion but welcoming all forms of alternative J-fashion. It’s a curated experience where attendees can connect with the community, enjoy our event programming, explore Chicago, all while being surrounded by one of the world’s most beautiful hotels!
Is there a dress code for the event?
The dress code is as follows:
- Dress in a manner that aligns with the theme of the event. The Great Lace is a formal Japanese fashion event. Attendees must wear some form of Japanese fashion such as but not limited to lolita, elegant gothic aristocrat, ouji fashion, decora, yumekawaii fashion, gyaru, etc. or appropriate formal-wear. Japanese or Western formal-wear is acceptable. Cosplay, costumes, or steampunk are not allowed at the event. Any attire intended provoke or offend is strictly prohibited at The Great Lace. In accordance with venue policy, weapons or items that look like realistic weapons are not allowed.
- All attire is subject to local laws.
Those who do not adhere to the dress code will be refused admittance into the event without refund. If you have questions about our dress code, please contact info@frillinois.com.
Who runs this event?
The Great Lace is run by Frillinois. Frillinois is an organization dedicated to organizing J-fashion and alternative fashion events in the Chicagoland region. While we are active members of the Chicago lolita and J-fashion communities, we are a separate entity and not affiliated with the moderating team of the Chicago Lolita Community.
Can people under 18 attend this event?
Yes, all attendees under 18 years old (at the time of the event) will need to provide an emergency contact. For our attendees aged 16-18, we ask that they have a parent or guardian nearby the venue but may attend on their own. For attendees under the age of 16, a parent or guardian will need to be present at the event at all times.
I’m just getting started in J-fashion/lolita fashion. Can I attend the event?
Absolutely! We’d love to welcome you to the J-fashion community. Be sure to check our website for the dress code before attending. We also recommend getting involved with either your local J-fashion communities or online communities.
We also recommend our Frillinois events as a way to get familiar with the community and jumpstart your wardrobe.
